I love roses. Roses buns/ mantou roses/pau roses keep on whispering my name. Too hard to ignore.So reluctantly, I just rolled up my sleeves and make mantou roses my version,using orange flash sweet potato for the bun. Looking the video gave me hope to try . Adn tips from Wendy are really helpful..
Jom kita menge-PAU. Lets make Pau . Have to finished up many perishable items from the fridge and sweet potato beli kat cameron higlands few weeks ago dah nak bertunas :P. Mula2 inti ni buat utk karipap,sebab terliur KSShilla Azarin tayang a few days ago, tapi ambo chicken out at the last minute, gerun sbb tak reti kelim:P,and belom pi beli karipap mould.So ambo meng-googlelah, at the end terjebak with this mantou roses.Blame her for seducing me with these beautiful babes ( roses mantou,, look so effortless :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVlpDFZxIPE). hehehe can't blame me,terus gatal tangan walaupun tak pernah buat pau sebelum ni. Rolled up my sleeves and get done with it. Eleh...tak de rupo pau pun!!! tak gebu mulus macam pau yg beli kat kedai. RILEK BRADER,BRADE RILEK!!!First time buat!! tak kan boleh lawan machine made/ pro made!!!! Tapi dah cukup menawan buat mata ambo dan rasa sedapnya memang lagi sedap dari yg pernah ambo rasa, sebab yg ni ada terasa manis lembut dari sweet potato . Makan 3 bijik pun rasa macam nak lagi jer..hehehe. hahaha...nak gatal tangan lagi buat pau ni??? Definetly:D , knowing me...too bad I haven't found the cure for my itchy fingers:P. Hujan2 BEST makan pau ngan Tea/kopi panas. Jom makan :D |

for the filling/inti :potato, potong kecik2, rebus ,toss . |
|
chicken breast,dice, fry with curry paste |
|
mix the potato n chicken curry, cook through,then toss the liquid |
|
sweet potato,steamed and mash to be mixed/kneaded with flour for making pau dough |
|
mashed sweet potato/ i blend sweet potato |
|
yeast mixture ,ready to be used. |
|
Add Pau flour, yeast mixture, fine blended sweet potato into the mixing bowl to be knead |
|

knead util is not sticky |

knead until the dough is not sticky to the mixing bowl, then add in crisco or other fat of your choice |
|
continue kneading until u get a smooth ball, let it rest for an hour |
|
after resting 1 hour |

give a few punches, |
|
then continue kneading for 2-3 minutes, mine was quite sticky at this stage, so I added some more pau flour,while continue kneading until get a ball again. |

To make ONE SET of roses :make 5 small balls, flatten out |
|
over lap the edges. |
|
put the filling |

then roll down |
|
roll the middle back and forth with a chopstick or u can cut with a knife, will give 2 roses |

this is aother method of making the roses. make aball of 50 g . then flatten out to a round circle.make 6 slits,put the filling in the middle. and fold up /work on opposite site

but this one I made it free cut. I like to work free style. Ambo buat jer sekeping doh tu bulat besar utk isi inti, then bentukkan dia jadi cylinder, pas tu canai doh bulat2., potong tengah, jadi smi cicrle, then tempek buat petal satu2. |

Ni rupa pau yg dah masak. Walaupun rupa tak semulus yg beli beli kat kedai, tapi kelembutan,rasa SEDAPnya tak leh LAWAN cakap u . Sedap Giler!!!. makan 3 bijik pun terasa NAK LAGI!!. hehehe |

The BEST Pau I've ever tasted. tak caya? cer buat sendiri, lembut dan terasa sweet potato nya. Definetely will hv fun in the kitchen making more sweet potato roses pau. |
